So many of her points hit home. A must read for those struggling or just sober-curious."" - Victoria Ergas, Travel Industry Sales & Marketing Leader ""Jenn beautifully and transparently illustrates how easily alcohol can become the social lubricant for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who live in a much-too-loud-world. I love how Jenn takes the reader on her personal journey to live alcohol free as an HSP, modeling a different way for her four children."" - Peggi Cooney Author of This Side of Alcohol ""Guiding women to embrace a sober lifestyle with a GET TO mindset has allowed me to witness remarkable transformations throughout my career as a sober coach. But few stories have touched me as deeply as Jenn's journey. Yes we share the same name and common struggle like so many women have with alcohol, but each is incredibly unique and inspiring. I've had the privilege to work with Jenn in this journey and her memoir is a testament of courage, vulnerability, and strength, shining through every page and inspiring hope and resilience in anyone who reads it. Jenn's journey to sobriety hasn't been easy, and her awareness from a people-pleasing perfectionist to turning up the volume in her gut to pursue her innermost passions are just a testament of her immense personal growth and transformation. She openly discusses the pressure she felt to always be perfect, to appear perfect on the outside and make everyone else happy. It's a reminder that turning to alcohol can manifest in many different ways, and that true healing requires more than just abstaining from alcohol-it requires confronting the underlying issues that fuel the need to numb in the first place. Jenn doesn't shy away from the difficult moments or the painful memories. Instead, she confronts them head-on, showing readers that it's possible to find strength, healing and gratitude, even in the darkest of times. But perhaps the biggest takeaway is Jenn's message of hope. Through her own experiences, she shows readers that it's never too late to change your life, to chase your dreams, and to become the person you were always meant to be. ""Out of the Fog"" is a beautifully written and deeply moving memoir that will inspire and uplift anyone who reads it. I highly recommend it to anyone who is sober curious or who simply needs a reminder that no matter what's happened in the past, it's never too late to take a U-Turn in your life. As Mel Robbins says, ""You are ONE DECISION away from a completely different life."" -Jen Hirst, Founder of Lighthouse Sobriety ""As a woman in recovery I related to the feelings and vulnerability expressed in the pages. The message for me is, as women there is much to identify and recover from. Societal expectations, generational dysfunction, religious abuse, patriarchal hypocrisy, shame and good girl conditioning. (I'm sure there is much more to add to the list but that's what is coming to mind right now.) Whatever vice we choose to cope with those things does not matter. What matters is eventually choosing a path to recovery and there are many out there. Ultimately the goal is to find ourselves again and it's evident that the author, Jenn Burton, has found that path back to herself. Having a story and getting to share it with the world is a gift. I think many women will find hope in reading this. They will either see themselves due to similar events or they will understand the feelings associated with the trauma."" - Natalie Good, small business owner." As Mel Robbins says, ""You are ONE DECISION away from a completely different life."" -Jen Hirst, Founder of Lighthouse Sobriety" Author Information"Jenn Burton is a mom of four who was born and raised in Southern California. Jenn has been married to her husband, Nick, for 14 years, and has spent the last couple of decades working in Human Resources. Her dream as a kid was to be a writer or journalist living in New York City, and she earned her Master's degree in American Studies from Cal State University, Fullerton. Growing up a perfectionist and struggling with self-injury, depression and anxiety starting in her teen years, Jenn's journey to sobriety hasn't been easy, but it's been 100% worth it. Learning to go against the ""good girl"" mentality of being brought up in a culture that teaches girls to suppress their strengths and highlights their weaknesses, Jenn is now focused on pursuing a life full of authenticity, purpose and passion. When she's not working, reading, or writing on her blog, you can find Jenn on the sidelines of her kids' various sports and school activities. She revels in being a ""crazy sports mom,"" and enjoys occasional lunch or breakfast dates with her husband while the kids are in school.
