Reviews

Out of Rushmore's Shadow is an eye-opening and amazing story about Luigi Del Bianco, the true chisel-genius behind the carving of Mount Rushmore. This fascinating book turns orthodox history on its head. Highly recommended! -- DOUGLAS BRINKLEY, Author of Rightful Heritage and Professor of History at Rice University. With all of Italy's richness in culture and craftsmanship, Luigi Del Bianco serves as a prime example of what Italians have contributed to our great nation. -- DANIEL J. LONGO, National President, Order Sons of Italy in America(R) Growing up, I always thought Gutzon Borglum, with help in later years from his son, Lincoln, were solely responsible for the creation of Mount Rushmore. Then I met Lou Del Bianco. And only AFTER pouring through pages upon pages of his undeniable evidence, mostly written in Borglum's hand, did I learn the critical and historic role Luigi Del Bianco played as Chief Carver. Out of Rushmore's Shadow is a compelling history that Lou Del Bianco was meant to write; a meticulous gathering of facts that moved the National Park Service to do the right thing. -- T. SEAN HERBERT Executive Producer, UnXpected Development
