Overview

LEON OSMAN has been at Everton FC since he was ten years old and in that time has witnessed major changes at the club and within football. A fixture in the Blues' team for the past decade, Osman's humour and thoughtful nature shines through in his revealing and entertaining autobiography. The skilful midfielder has been at the heart of Everton's resurgence in that time and was the player most often chosen by David Moyes during the Scot's managerial career. Osman provides a unique insight into Moyes - the man and his methods - as well as many of the big personalities he has played alongside, such as Duncan Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, Tim Cahill, Thomas Gravesen, Mikel Arteta and Phil Neville. Leon reflects on his own journey, from his upbringing as a Liverpool supporter to Everton Academy starlet whose rich potential was threatened by a serious knee injury. He had to watch on frustrated while many of his youth team-mates were given Premier League opportunities and, after a couple of loan spells, was almost 23 before he broke through into the Everton first team. Despite the late start, he developed into one of the club's most creative players, shining in his first full season as the Blues finished fourth and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. He is now approaching 400 appearances for Everton. Osman's ability and consistency was rewarded with a first England cap at the age of 31 in November 2012. He remains a key figure during a new era at Everton under Roberto Martinez and reveals his thoughts on the Spaniard's revolution at Goodison Park. Filled with entertaining tales and anecdotes from his life at Everton, Osman's story is fascinating and inspiring.
