Marcello Giugliano es investigador y docente de lengua y lingüística española en la Università di Bologna. Anteriormente, ha trabajado como investigador en la Universidad de Berna y en la Universidad de Leipzig. Obtuvo su doctorado en la Universidad Pompeu Fabra. Sus áreas de investigación son la traductología, los estudios críticos del discurso basados en el análisis de corpus y la sociolingüística.
