Author Information

Dr. Bowon Kim is professor of operations strategy and management science at KAIST Business School in Seoul, Korea. He earned Doctor of Business Administration in Technology and Operations Management from Harvard University (1995), Master of Science in Operations Research from Stanford University (1989), and Bachelor of Business Administration from Seoul National University (1988). He joined the KAIST faculty in 1996. In 2002 and 2007, he was a visiting professor at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. From 2004 to 2006, He was the director of Techno-MBA, the flagship general MBA program at KAIST. In 2006, he helped to design and initiate another innovative MBA, IMBA, at KAIST Business School and served as the director in 2007. In 2009/10, he served as Dean of Graduate School of Management and also Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at KAIST Business School. He is currently the director of Center for Global Supply Chain Management at KAIST, which is devoted to doing academic research, industry studies, and activities, in operations and supply chain management on a global scale.
