Overview

One World Currency presents a serious study about the need for a single stable currency with timely, historical references and skillful economic analysis by noted economist José Rafael Abinader. This book describes how a global and universally accepted currency will lead to economic stability throughout the world as well as the means for the design, implementation, and administration for such a currency.   In order to support his proposal, Abinader examines ·the competition between the so-called main world currencies, ·the U.S. dollar and the Euro, ·how competition leads to instability in developed and developing nations.

Reviews

This book will cause much debate and controversy because it constitutes a significant contribution to a hot topic today in which several countries, in order to promote exportations in an unacceptable competition, have devalued their currencies. -- Roberto Saladin, economist, former Dominican ambassador in Washington, former governor of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic The reflection of this book is interesting and provides a valuable discussion of the Global Monetary Crisis (UNDP). -- Miguel Ceara Hatton, former director of the Office for Human Development of the United Nations Program for Development One World Currency: The Globe is a significant contribution to the study of international economics. It is a multi-dimensional appraisal of the prospects for an international monetary union. Within the context of the Eurozone experiences, the book's proposal for an international currency is timely. It merits serious considerations. -- Shaw J. Dallal, former professor of international economics and international business management at Utica College of Syracuse University
