Overview

Unlike the beard, the mustache has been much maligned in Western culture, more associated with villainy (Hitler, Snidely Whiplash) and hyper-masculinity (Burt Reynolds, the Marlboro Man) than style. But the stache is back, as evidenced in this cultural history that looks at the mustache's past, present, and future in all its well-groomed glory.
