Overview

Despite the surplus of directives commanding either our allegiance or compliance, a fundamental question cries out for an answer: what do we mean when we recognize someone as a 'good' or 'moral' person? Regardless of those prescriptions issuing from diverse historical traditions, is there a universally applicable and identifiable kernel - not just within communities of the faithful, but relative to our common humanity - that may be recognized as anchoring ethical behavior?
