OverviewAcute malnutrition in children aged between 6 and 59 months remains a worrying problem in the Mosango health zone in the DRC. This phenomenon is mainly linked to nutritional factors such as unbalanced diet, poor breastfeeding, inadequate weaning and lack of dietary diversity. These deficiencies weaken children's health and increase their vulnerability to disease. This study highlights the impact of these practices on children's nutritional status, and underscores the need for targeted action: nutrition education, improved access to nutritious food and reinforced basic health care. The Mosango case thus reflects a national challenge and calls for an urgent, integrated response to safeguard the health of the youngest children.
