Overview

"From Richard Lyntton, international Amazon #1 best-selling author, comes an explosive new thriller featuring British journalist, veteran tank commander and trained killer (retired), Jack Steele. An unimaginable nuclear disaster. Thousands of lives at stake. One man can prevent it ... as a global conspiracy plots his assassination. Buckle up NOW for this gripping, action-packed thriller of international intrigue, espionage, suspense and deceit. Can a reporter who hates corruption stay true to himself when lives are on the line? Is he being set up? Jack Steele survived the first Gulf War, Bosnia, and his time as a UN Peacekeeper. As a captain and tank commander, he saw the dark side of war. Skilled in language, he speaks Russian, German, French, and Bosnian. That's why they sent him. Two UN Officials have gone missing. They were last seen in the Tumen Triangle. A 324-mile river that borders Russia, China, and North Korea, it's a place few Westerners have heard of or understand. It would be a prize-winning story if he could crack it. Sometimes fate puts a person where they need to be-and then he saw the child fall beneath the ice. When Steele rescued the boy, it was the first domino to fall. Would it lead to North Korea launching a nuclear missile and taking the lives of thousands of innocent citizens? You'll love this high octane adrenaline rush of an international action thriller with twists, turns, an impossible romance, and excruciating choices: Jack Steele must risk his marriage, his job, and his loyalty to Queen and country - if he survives. A stunning and powerful book-Lyntton's Jack Steele takes the reader into the dangerous territory of political violence, leading him into a nightmarish choice between saving the lives of strangers and his personal fight for survival and those he loves. Emotion and thought-provoking. You won't want to put it down! -SOPHIE JENKINS, author of A Random Act of Kindness and The Forgotten Guide to Happiness With the wholesale political havoc and chaos at work in today's world, I guessed that digging into an international political thriller would be anti-climactic. I was wrong. As soon as I started reading North Korea Deception by the skillful novelist and actor Richard Lyntton, I easily got into the head of Jack Steele and was swept up in the terror and intrigue that Steele finds himself immersed in. Jack Steele's a powerful character you won't soon forget, and North Korea Deception provides world-class entertainment that comes with a powerful message about how vulnerable we are to the political aspirations of nations that don't have our best interests at heart. -FRANK FREUDBERG, author of Gasp, Find Virgil, and Baby Please Don't Go

The dangers and plot twists that follow arrive as fast and non-stop as a Sochi slalom run throughout this political action thriller. And the questions become how will Steele be able to save those around him as well as himself in the midst of the complicated web of Russian, UK, North Korean, US, and terrorist intrigues. Lyntton seasons the tale with romance, love, family, and even some mysterious spirituality. But the heart of the story is about trust and the challenge of doing right in the face of corruption. North Korea Deception is an engaging page turner that takes readers inside worlds it's safer to view from a comfy chair than the end of a gun barrel. R. N.
