Overview"Der Band macht die zweite Aufklärungsbewegung, nach der 4. Mai-Bewegung zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts, zum Thema - eine kritische Phase der Kulturerneuerung, die, von ihren Gegners als ""bürgerliche Liberalisierung"" stigmatisiert, in den 80er Jahren zur Reformation der Kulturrevolution bzw. der Mao-Ära führte und in den blutigen Ereignissen von1989 ihr Ende fand. Nietzsches Zeit- und Kulturkritik, ihr radikaler Traditionsbruch und ausgeprägter Antirationalismus wurde zusammen mit ihrem allgemeinen Aufbruchs- und Erneuerungspathos zu einem westlich geprägten Aufklärungsmodel, das bis heute in China als unvollendet (Jin Guantao) ausgefasst wird.
