This engaging cultural guide celebrates the remarkable individuals born in NYC's five boroughs who went on to change the world: from Jonas Salk developing the polio vaccine in laboratories funded by his City College education, to hip-hop pioneers transforming music from Bronx block parties, to James Baldwin giving voice to the struggle for justice from his Harlem roots.
