OverviewNested in Modernity is the first scholarly book to investigate a single heritage site in Qatar: the palace of Sheikh ʿAbd Allah bin Jasim Al Thani in Doha. Physically embraced by the new National Museum today, this esteemed architectural complex is widely regarded as an anchoring point of national identity. Yet, no prior study has traced its history from foundation to the present day or analysed the functions of its various structures. This richly illustrated volume aims to accomplish just that, whilst it also features virtual 3D reconstructions of the site during its heyday, the 1920s, inviting you on a visual journey. This book is a co-publication of Brill and Qatar Museums.
