Ograniczeniem w przypadku kukurydzy jest to, że odczyty chlorofilometru wykonane we wczesnych stadiach (V4 do V6) mogą nie byc spójne z diagnostyką odżywiania azotem. Z tego powodu ogranicza to możliwośc interwencji w zarządzaniu stosowaniem azotu w pokryciu jeszcze na początku cyklu, czyli w okresie idealnym dla uzyskania maksymalnej wydajności uprawy.
