He has served in every capicity in organized clubs that host and operate field trials. He has traveled with his horses from the northern border of Florida to the vast Canadien prairies. He has spent parts of some twenty summers at the training camp of professional trainer Colvin Davis in Broomhill, Manitoba. William has officiated in over 80 championship trials. The majority of those trials were qualifying trials to compete in the National Championship held on the historic Ames Plantation near Grand Junction, Tennessee. Willam has reported trials from Florida and into Canada for the American Field magazine and the United Kennel Club publician. He reported the National Field Trial Championship for seven years, 2016-2022, only the eighth man to do so in the 100 plus years of the running of the National.
