Reviews

Some books never get down to specifics, but Narrative Therapy for Spanish Speakers provides a treasure chest of psychotherapeutic strategies, hints, experiential exercises, and relevant examples. If you are looking for hands-on therapy interventions you have come to the right place! Howard Rosenthal, EdD, lead educator and professor of human services at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley and author of the Encyclopedia of Counseling and the Human Services Dictionary The need for quality resources that support bilingual counseling is increasing, and Swazo and Pelc have done an excellent job blending theory into practice to create a useful resource for practitioners in the field. The exercises are creative and will have an immediate impact on your practice. Kevin A. Fall, PhD, chair and professor in the Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education, and School Psychology at Texas State University This is a wonderful, inspiring companion to therapists who want to serve Latinx communities. Every chapter contains helpful reflections, tips, scripts, and suggestions, anchored by microfictions, morals, sayings, and quotes that are culturally congruent. This is the book therapists need to reinvigorate and demystify bilingual practice. Andres J. Consoli, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California Santa Barbara
