Never have I enjoyed a collection of photos of Nantucket more than I have with Jack Blade's Nantucket Island Images, Nantucket Daffodil Festival, and his Nantucket Christmas Stroll. The three books are unique and stand alone as one of the best photographic essays based on Nantucket I have reviewed. I thoroughly enjoyed the inspirational sayings in Book One: Nantucket Island Images and especially the excerpts from Jack's journal while he lived on Nantucket during the years from 1979 through 1982. The design of the book, the journal excerpts - all of it - lets us be a part of Nantucket in a way we've never experienced before. Simply marvelous. Truly special. - J.
