Author Information

Ali Sadaghiani (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey) specializes in interfacial transport and phase change phenomena. His research primarily focuses on heat and mass transfer in boiling, condensation, evaporation, and surface modification for energy and water systems. He is notably recognized for his parametric studies on mixed wettable and micro/nanostructured surfaces. His research has significantly advanced the understanding of liquid/vapor phase change mechanisms on these surfaces. His work has been instrumental in developing more efficient thermal management systems with applications in various industrial processes. His research has been published in several high-impact journals and has received considerable attention in thermal sciences. He employs theoretical, numerical, and experimental methods to enhance the efficiency of multiphase systems, addressing critical global challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and energy efficiency. Arzu Ozbey (PhD, Sabanci University, Turkey) is interested in the design, fabrication, and characterization of new-generation microfluidic chips as potential devices for focusing, separation, and enrichment of small particles and rapid detection and diagnosis of circulating tumor cells. She has successfully led interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative microfluidic platforms. Mehrdad Karimzadehkhouei has received his Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering at Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2017, MSc. and BSc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering in Thermo-Fluids branch in Istanbul Technical University in Turkey in 2012 and Urmia State University in Iran in 2007. He is currently a Research Assistant Professor at Koç University, Faculty of Engineering. Ali Kosar (Professor of Mechatronics, Sabanci University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center, Center of Excellence for Functional Surfaces and Interfaces for Nano Diagnostics, Turkey) is interested in the design and development of new-generation micro heat sinks and microfluidic devices. His research interests cover heat and fluid flow on micro/ nanoscale, nanofluids, condensation, boiling heat transfer, and cavitation. He has broad experience and knowledge of various types of experiments on heat and fluid flow and phase change phenomena in micro/nanoscale. His research has made significant contributions to the scientific knowledge of heat and fluid flow in micro/nanodomains.
