Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationMoanike‘ala Akaka was a founding member of Kokua Hawai‘i, the Protect Kaho‘olawe ‘Ohana, and Ka Lahui Hawai‘i. She served for twelve years as an Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustee, from 1984 to 1996. Maxine Kahaulelio was born and raised on O‘ahu. She supported communities in Chinatown, Waiahole, and elsewhere against eviction. Her demilitarization work includes efforts to protect Kaho‘olawe and Pohakuloa. Terrilee Keko‘olani-Raymond has been a peace activist since the late 1960s. Her activism for Hawaiian sovereignty and demilitarization has been done through Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific; Hawai‘i Peace and Justice; and Womens’ Voices, Women Speak, among other organizations. Loretta Ritte is an aloha ‘aina who has been involved in struggles to protect numerous sacred places across the islands. Born and raised on Kaua‘i, she has dedicated her adult life to Moloka‘i, where she continues to reside with her ‘ohana. Noelani Goodyear-Ka‘opua is associate professor of political science at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, where she teaches Hawaiian and Indigenous politics.
