Author Information

Masako Carey is a Japanese-born storyteller who now lives in Northern Ireland. As a child, Masako loved reading books and watching animated Japanese folktales on TV. These early joys shaped her unique storytelling style. Today, Masako shares Japanese tales in schools, libraries, and community spaces, enchanting audiences of all ages and abilities. Katie Ponder is an award-winning illustrator whose work has been featured in exhibitions at Somerset House, and the DK books Greek Myths, Norse Myths, Egyptian Myths, Goddesses and Heroines, Myths of China, and Celtic Myths. Her inspirations include ballet, ghost stories, and the greenhouses at Kew Gardens.
