Overview

Military families have to spend time apart from each other while serving their country, with one or more of the parents deployed. The separation can be just a few days in length or many months. This children's book helps the family explain to the child how life will continue while the parent is away and how to communicate over the distance until the day the family reunites. The writing style and art of the book enables each child to relate to the story in a personal sense. This book was designed with five cut out pages at the end allowing the child to write a letter and draw a picture for the deployed parent.

Author Information

James Thomas published his first children's story in 2004. His writing is inspired by his many deployments away from his family and has developed into a series of family separation books. His literary aspiration is to provide guidance to families apart from their loved ones through writing. James graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and he holds an Executive Masters degree in Business Administration. He is married with a son and a daughter.
