"""Music for Life recounts a mixed methods study and concludes with a call to reconsider how traditional music education practice connects with life after the classroom. Researchers and educators will find their review of literature and summary of relevant measurement tools particularly useful.""--Don D. Coffman, Professor of Music Education, Frost School of Music, University of Miami ""Thanks to the keen attention of its research-savvy authors, this noteworthy volume pays tribute to the myriad ways of musical engagement that are enjoyed by our senior citizens, elders, and sages. The colorful stories and the considerable data underscore the benefits to senior citizens of regular musical participation in their sunset years. This is an important read, and may well clarify new roles for those who are drawn to ensuring quality of lifelong musical learning for people of all ages.""--Patricia Shehan Campbell, University of Washington ""Clear and concise analysis...and suggestions for future research make this a valuable book for researchers and music educators. Highly recommended.""--Choice"
