Author Information

Shirrel Rhoades is a writer, college professor, and filmmaker. He has lived in Key West for over 20 years. He served three terms as president of the Key West Art & Historical Society. He was co-founder of the long-running Key West Mystery Fest. John Patrick Hemingway is author of Strange Tribe: A Family Memoir, which examines the complex relationship between his father Dr. Gregory Hemingway and his grandfather, Nobel Laureate Ernest Hemingway. After studying history and Italian at U.C.L.A., he moved to Italy, then to Spain. He now makes his home in Jacksonville, Florida. Robert Coburn is originally from Norfolk, Virginia. After high school in Norfolk, he spent three years in the US Army as a helicopter crew chief stationed in Berlin, Germany. He returned home to attend college at Richmond Professional Institute (Now VCU) in Richmond, Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising. He also met his wife in Richmond while a student there.Coburn has worked at major advertising agencies in New York and Los Angeles. His ads have won top awards both nationally and internationally. He is an instrument rated commercial pilot and plays saxophone. He and his wife now live in Carmel, California.
