Murder at Home

Overview

Aunt Rose still had the knife with her when she closed the bedroom door behind her. The very knife had been bloodstained around it and the guilt was showing itself in her eyes. She was never trembling before the way she did now. There was a bothering silence that lasted for almost six minutes until she said something to herself. ""Yeah, I'm done now. I did it for my future."" She was feeling extremely satisfied now that the mission was finally accomplished. She walked slowly into the kitchen room, a knife drawn out with a menacing blade, pointed down to the silent floor. Her husband Mike was still breathing in a pool of blood when she went straight to the sink, turned on the tap for the water. But she kept looking at the bloodstained knife as she was trying to clean up the evidence against the crime she had just committed. In fact she had totally wanted to destroy the evidence but couldn't. The blood reminded her that she had deliberately stabbed her husband. She had already thought that she had murdered him. She wanted to run away to the police station and report the matter as though someone had attacked them. She wanted this to look a crime had been committed by someone else from outside. She had even forgotten that she was still having the knife with her in her right hand. The intention of killing her husband was based on the financial matters. How can you kill someone you love for money? She was thinking uncontrollably. She wanted to go back and make sure that Mike had died completely. Or otherwise she was going to be in a great danger. What will happen or what was she going to do with him if he hadn't died yet? Was she going to finish him off? ""If I don't kill him..."" She was breathing heavily and clearly the guilt was eating her up. The right hand was trembling and she wanted to stop it because if someone gets inside she would be forced to tell the truth if asked. She wanted to make some coffee to calm herself down but couldn't. She was still thinking about the man she had married fifteen years ago now. Mike, the father of three boys, among them two had already graduated as a good teacher from the university of Cape Town many years ago.
