Overview

Moving Beyond Boundaries makes a major contribution to our understanding of under-represented literatures by expanding our knowledge about the issues, experiences, and concerns of black women writing in different communities and in a wide range of geographic contexts. Carole Boyce-Davies is Professor in the Department of English, African and African- American Studies and Comparative Literature at the State University of New York, Binghamton, and is the author of Out of the Kumbla: Caribbean Women's Literature and Migrations of the Subject: Black Women, Writing and Identity. Molara Ogundipe-Leslie is Director of Women's Studies at Indiana University, Fort Wayne and is the author of African Women and Critical Transformations. She is a founding member of the Association of African Women in Research and Development and Women in Nigeria.
