The diary has since evolved into a beloved companion for women of all ages. Starr uses it herself as her daily planner, moon tracker and cycle chart. Starr is a musician, writer and poet. She finds inspiration in music, art, philosophy and travel. She loves any creative, adventurous challenge. After many years spent blogging as Earth Mama, she edited and published The Mother magazine which celebrated the relationship between nature and motherhood. She recently wrote the children's book What a Lovely Sound illustrated by Susan Merrick which was endorsed by Howard Goodall CBE. Her poem She is Autumn was included in the 2014 Anthology The Story of Us where her writing was described as like a painting, rich and evocative Starr trained as a concert pianist at the University of Alaska and went on to open a school of music. She created a music theory methodology that led several of her students on to careers in music. She currently writes and teaches piano in Surrey where she lives with her husband and four children.
