OverviewAfter I retired from the Montana Air Guard, I bought my first digital camera. I spent several years and several camera generations learning some photography basics and how to use digital cameras. I always had my camera with me and took many photos of or Lewis and Clark events and tours. Most of those early photos were of little or no value, but I eventually got the hang of things and started to get better results. Photography proved to be an excellent reason to get out and see the wonders of our great state. I mostly traveled the dirt roads of the few central Montana counties around Great Falls and downriver towards Lewistown. These photos are in no particular order or arrangement. They just show things that caught my eye that I decided to photograph. As I looked back through my photograph files, I found that quite a few of those early photos were revisited after I learned how to take better photos and had a better grade camera. Most of the water shots are of the Missouri River, but other waters found their way in too - the Columbia River (Hat Rock State Park, Oregon), Two Medicine River, Smith River, and Highwood Creek.
