He is an affiliate faculty at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Yunnan University, China, and a Fellow of the Geological Society of America. Jade d'Alpoim Guedes is Associate Professor at the Department of Anthropology, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California.
