OverviewA straw man version of modern monetary theory (MMT) is prevalent in economics, as seen in the IGM Forum Expert Panel poll. In order to criticize or support MMT, economists need to know what MMT really stands for. The job becomes difficult, however, because MMT rejects mainstream economics language and frameworks.
