Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationMitzi Bootzin, was born Maris Pittelman on May 26, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Frema and Harry Pittelman. She attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and married Dr Richard Bootzin while there. They had two children, Deborah Daniels and Lainey Melnick. Mitzi began work in the newspaper field as a proofreader in Lafayette, Indiana and moved up through the ranks attaining the position of Editor for Pioneer Press, a subsidiary of Time, Inc. She was known throughout the Chicago suburbs in the 1970's for her movie reviews. In 1986, she retired to Tucson, Arizona, and made her final move to Austin, Texas in 2015 so she could live close to family while battling a rare, neuro-endocrine carcinoma.
