Midlife Women Rock will be the handbook for all women going through menopause or indeed for others who wish to learn more about a subject that is rarely discussed in public. The unique informal style, stories, conversations & interviews enclosed all help separate the myths about menopause from the facts, especially as they are described in such an intimate way. I have such admiration for Breeda in sharing her knowledge and resources with us all. The sooner Ireland rolls out the first ever education & awareness campaign the better - a world first. - Josepha Madigan - Minister of State for Special education and inclusion. In a world which glamorises youth and in particular young women, the particular needs of middle-aged and older women can be overlooked or pushed to one side. This book is starting an important conversation on menopause which for far too long has been a taboo topic. We must move beyond shame and stigma and normalise these conversations and encourage women to seek advice and support. This book successfully combines evidence-based information with real life testimonies making it an accessible and relatable read. Orla O'Connor. Director of the National Women Council of Ireland (NWCI) Menopause is having a 'moment' - with lots of attention and focus from media in the U.K. But simply drawing attention to a problem isn't the same as solving it and what the millions of women 'suffering' through the many symptoms of menopause want is solutions. With this book, Breeda has brought together provocative prose AND practical advice. Her aims are to challenge the status quo, break down taboos AND provide support and encouragement for women everywhere. She has succeeded! Sara Price Rebellious Optimist and Founder of ACTUALLY.WORLD Breeda is a campaigner, an academic, a field worker, a mother and a real-life, unairbrushed woman. She speaks for all of us, through her own experience, with compassion, understanding and above all courage helping to change our 'normal' and make all our lives freer.
