The building was once operated by the Colorado Midland Railroad and its successor, the Midland Terminal Railway. For many years, the roundhouse was home to Van Briggle Art Pottery, which prospered from the roundhouse's location on US Highway 24 between Manitou Springs and the central business district of Colorado Springs. After Van Briggle moved to a new location, the roundhouse was gutted and rebuilt as office space in 2008.
