OverviewThis research manuscript presents the development and simulation of a three-state charge algorithm in an autonomous photovoltaic system. The aim of this work is to automatically operate a photovoltaic installation in such a way as to make it transparent to users. In fact, when operation is left to users, the service life of the accumulators is compromised because the photovoltaic source is intermittent. To achieve this, we developed the three-state battery charge control algorithm, programmed the PIC and simulated an autonomous photovoltaic system in the ISIS PROTEUS environment, consisting of: a photovoltaic panel, a regulator, two storage batteries, an inverter, various priority lines in a house, and two PIC 16F877A microcontrollers that generate a PWM signal.
