Table of Contents

Among Michelangelo's works: 'Battle of the Centaurs, Madonna of the Steps, Crucifix, Sts Procolus and Petronius' for the shrine of St Dominic in San Domenico, Bologna, Bacchus, Pieta (St Peter's, Rome), David, and other sculptures for various patrons. There are also Michelangelo's important sculptural commissions from the Medici, until his final departure from Florence in 1534, from Julius II and from the della Rovere heirs. Also includes Michelangelo's last thirty years, from 1534 until his death in 1564 when the statues of Brutus and Rondanini Pieta, were made. A particular section will be dedicated to the themes related to Michelangelo's sculpture: the carving of the marble, the handling of the surfaces, the linea serpentina, and the non-finito. An interesting part will deal with photography and experiments with a three-dimensional digital examination of Michelangelo's sculptures.
