Reviews

I know of no more intelligent or comprehensive survey of what theorists of genre say. Fishelov's analyses cut very deep, getting to core assumptions and specifying powerfully the limits of various approaches. Fishelov is exemplary in his transformation of his sharp criticisms into what ultimately become quite useful constructive comments. --Charles Altieri, University of Washington
