Overview

Meridian charts a uniquely aesthetic path via a symbiotic fusion of poetic and photographic art from the darkest of places to a place of light while addressing analysis and improvement of thought in a manner that, while sentimental, is more cognitive and more refined than most will instinctively endeavor to comprehend. This serves to awaken the mind to a better understanding of the thoughts of others, and of life in general. Meridian is Book Two in The Raw Thoughts Series. Book One is titled Raw Thoughts: A Mindful Fusion of Poetic and Photographic Art. Raw Thoughts was nominated for the National Book Award and the Griffin Poetry Prize. Select poems from the book were nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

Reviews

Meridian is an emotive introspection of life itself, filled with rhythmic poetry that demands thoughtful dissection of its true nature. Accessible and deeply rooted in humility, John Casey's followup to Raw Thoughts gracefully delivers an understanding of the true meaning and value of our existence. RYAN KOVACS, Poet and Author of The NME, The Profound, and I considered You In Meridian, John Casey and Scott Hussey tap into the depths of untempered emotions while challenging our conceptions of reality. The reader is drawn in, voyeuristically, to an entire spectrum of life's untamed circumstances. RITA BAKER, Poet and Author of Born Of Love, Of Breeding And Birth, My Dear Cousin Sadie, and Victim of Circumstances Meridian triumphs in its ability to capture the human experience with perfect balance of image and written word, heart and mind, shadow and light, vice and virtue, despair and resilience. I did not expect to be so emotionally impacted by its seamless photo-poetic dance, all the while challenged to reflect on what it means to be truly alive.
