Author Information

Hance D. Smith is Reader at Cardiff University specializiing in marine geography, marine resource management and the development of maritime communities. He is a founder member of the Commission on Marine Geography of the International Geographical Union. Jonathan Potts is Senior Specialist responsible for contemporary maritime affairs at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London.
