Overview

This therapist guide addresses the management of bipolar disorder. Divided into four phases, this 30-session program is designed to be used in conjunction with pharmacotherapy and focuses on helping the patient alleviate depressive episodes, form a support system of family and friends, focus on the most relevant problems outside of the disorder, and improve well-being. The program is based on the principles of CBT and includes such skills as cognitive restructuring, problem solving, mood charting, and activity scheduling. A major goal of the program is the creation of a treatment contract that informs the patient's treatment team and support network how to recognize possible periods of illness and the strategies they should use in order to help the patient during these times.TreatmentsThatWork(TM) represents the gold standard of behavioral healthcare interventions!BL All programs have been rigorously tested in clinical trials and are backed by years of researchBL A prestigious scientific advisory board, led by series Editor-In-Chief David H. Barlow, reviews and evaluates each intervention to ensure that it meets the highest standard of evidence so you can be confident that you are using the most effective treatment available to dateBL Our books are reliable and effective and make it easy for you to provide your clients with the best care availableBL Our corresponding workbooks contain psychoeducational information, forms and worksheets, and homework assignments to keep clients engaged and motivatedBL A companion website (www.oup.com/us/ttw) offers downloadable clinical tools and helpful resourcesBL Continuing Education (CE) Credits are now available on select titles in collaboration with PsychoEducational Resources, Inc.
