Author Information

Walter Bernhart is retired Professor of English Literature at the University of Graz/Austria; he was President of the International Association for Word and Music Studies (WMA) from its foundation in 1997 to 2019 and is executive editor of ‘Word and Music Studies’ (WMS), several volumes of which he also (co-)edited. His collected essays on the relationship between literature and music were published in WMS 14 (2015). Werner Wolf is Professor of English and General Literature at the University of Graz/Austria. Main areas of research: aesthetic illusion, narratology, meta-phenomena, functions of literature, intermediality. A selection of his essays on intermediality was published in the Brill/Rodopi series ‘Studies in Intermediality’ in 2018, for which he has (co-)edited six more volumes; he is also (co-)editor of seven volumes of ‘Word and Music Studies’.
