Folsom is a 1979 graduate of The University of Maine, Orono, and a 1984 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. Ed was an Assistant District Attorney and later the Deputy District Attorney for Cumberland County, Maine, before establish-ing a solo practice, in Portland, Maine, in 1995. From 1999 to 2012, Ed practiced in a small firm in Saco, representing many hundreds of people charged with OUI in Maine's District and Su-perior Courts and before hearings examiners of the Bureau of Mo-tor Vehicles. From 1996 to 2002, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Law-yers. In 2013, he received the President's Award from the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers: For Exemplifying the Goals and Values of this Association and the Profession. He is husband to his genius wife, Lauren, and the father of two genius daughters, Shannon and Alison. Ed currently practices criminal defense/OUI defense, in Biddeford, Maine, and is an adjunct pro-fessor of law, teaching Criminal Procedure- Investigations at the University of Maine School of Law.
