Born and raised in Mexico City, the actor became the number-one box-office star in Mexican films for six years consecutively and a leading male sex symbol. Jorge appeared in American movies such as Rio Lobo with John Wayne, Soldier Blue with Candice Bergen, and The Last Hard Men with Charlton Heston and James Coburn. He has acted opposite such actresses as Isela Vega, Sasha Montenegro, and the legendary Ava Gardner. Rivero was a guest star on the epic twenty-six-hour NBC Universal Television miniseries adaptation of James H. Michener's Centennial.
