I was intrigued by the idea of smoothie bowls. Everyone is familiar with the super sweet smoothie drinks made with fruit juices and dairy, but I was looking for something more nutrient rich and these unique smoothie bowls fit the bill perfectly. These recipes are dairy-free, soy-free, gluten and grain-free. They are nutrient rich, use superfoods, are rich in good fats, are low sugar and low carb. The recipes are naturally sweet, spicy and savory. My favorite bowls were the savory and spicy ones - I used them as meal replacements and they can be heated to make delicious light soups.
