A seventh-generation North Carolinian, author and historian Heather Leah is passionate about preserving the stories of her home state. She spends her days exploring ghost towns, underground tunnels, secret doors, and lost places--then reviving their stories through her work. She served two terms as a commissioner for the City of Raleigh's Historic Development Commission, actively working to protect historic buildings from demolition. She's won multiple awards for her historic documentation.
