Reviews

These short biographies are new additions to a series that concentrates on how writing has affected the lives of authors popular with young adults. Although both are favorites with teens, Stephenie Meyer and Lois Duncan followed markedly different paths to literary success. Albert makes use of recent inter-views and articles published primarily on the Internet or in periodicals for her research into the life of Meyer, finding that the mother of three found her inspiration for the Twilight series from a dream she had. She wrote every day afterward, building a story around the dream and finally with the encouragement of her older sister, she submitted her manuscript for publication. Success was immediate, as Twilight became immensely popular, both as a book and then as a major motion picture.
