Author Information

Brian DesRoches, MHA, MSC, MBA, PhD, LMFTBrian DesRoches, PhD, has been in private practice as an experientially-focused psychotherapist since the late 1980s. While practicing psychotherapy, he has also provided coaching, consulting, and workshop facilitation for the dental profession. His approach to these services integrates practical applications of 21st-century neuroscience with proven interventions to enable individuals to develop both internal resources and external skills, ultimately experiencing personal mastery, emotional resilience, and overall well-being. Before transitioning to psychotherapy and coaching, he was a hospital administrator and vice president of a multi-hospital corporation. Brian has an extensive professional education, holding a Master of Health Care Administration, a Master of Science in Counseling, a Master of Business Administration, and a Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling and Psychology. He has been trained in several therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and Coherence Therapy, and has taken advanced courses in the therapeutic applications of modern neuroscience. Brian is the author of Reclaiming Yourself (Dell Publishing Inc., April 1990) and Your Boss is Not Your Mother (William Morrow, Inc., April 1995), also published in six foreign languages. He also developed and facilitates workshops for the dental profession, focusing on Practice Leadership, Developing the Extraordinary Team, and Optimizing the Six Skills of Patient Communication.
