Overview

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Liv Glacier is a steep valley glacier, 64 km (40 mi) long, emerging from the Antarctic Plateau just southeast of Barnum Peak and draining north through the Queen Maud Mountains to enter Ross Ice Shelf between Mayer Crags and Duncan Mountains. Discovered in 1911 by Roald Amundsen, who named it for the daughter of Fridtjof Nansen.A glacier is a large persistent body of ice that forms where the accumulation of snow exceeds its ablation (melting and sublimation) over many years, often centuries.
