OverviewLight Scattering Imaging of Neural Tissue Function focuses on the optical imaging of physiological or biochemical processes correlated with neutral activation. Each of the at least four fundamental sources within neural tissue have been used to probe neural activation within the intact brain. Illumination techniques include reflectance and transmissions imaging in bright- field and dark- field illumination, scattered light signals are enhanced, enabling high-speed imaging and lower illumination levels. Optical imaging, illumination techniques, NIR(near infa-red), spectral imaging, confocal methods, and optical tomography are all covered within this work. Light Scattering Imaging of Neural Tissue Function emphasizes the interdisciplinary aspects of these techniques and in particular will provide examples showing the complimentary nature of optical imaging and other imaging methods.
