Overview

In the small town of Bradleyville, Donna McIntosh's life seems perfectly planned in the best way. However, when an old Victorian house brings about questions of life and death, Donna-and her neighbors'-lives will never be the same. Dawn and Whitney Prackett have always lived in Bradleyville, like many of their neighbors and friends. One such young woman, Donna MacIntosh, is the daughter of illustrious lawyer Frank MacIntosh, Bradleyville's premier counselor and richest resident. Raised by her father alone since age 3, Donna believes her mother left years ago, wanting nothing to do with her or her father. Coming into young adulthood, Donna, along with Dawn and Whitney, have the world at their feet and love around the corner. Dawn and Donna even have plans to become roommates during college and live in the large Victorian mansion owned by Frank. However, a twist of fate turns reality on its head and the girls soon reel from exposed secrets. Donna discovers that her father was a vicious man hiding out in peaceful Bradleyville while impacts from his crimes died down elsewhere. Now, the residents of Bradleyville must join with each other to stay strong and unravel the half-truths they've been told to find the answers they need. Murder, deceit, and brotherly love abound in Life in a Small Town, where the climax leaves one of the girls questioning everything she'd ever believed while the other contends with more questions they need to investigate. Finally, will the town get an answer to the singular question no one wants to ask: What really happened to Donna's mother?

Author Information

Lana Shevlin picked up writing after the worst ordeal a mother could endure-losing their son. To escape her grief, Lana moved to a small cabin while her husband and the rest of the family ran their business in Florida. Lana challenged herself to read a book a day and made it through Sherryl Woods' catalog of books-except two. When she called a bookstore she knew and Sherryl answered, the two shared a heart-to-heart and Lana began writing that night. Lana was born in Indiana. She is a wife, mother of five, and a small town girl at heart.
