Author Information

Edward Mendelson is the Lionel Trilling Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University, and has taught at both Harvard and Yale. He has numerous books and articles to his credit; has won such prestigious grants as the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship; and is Literary Executor of the estate of poet W.H. Auden. Eric Copeland was born and educated in Essex, England, and has illustrated several children’s books, including The Wind in the Willows and Brer Rabbit. Eric’s work has appeared in numerous magazines and educational publications. He works on watercolors and pastels full time from his studio in the hills outside Toronto, where he lives with his wife.
