Reviews

Let’s Chase Stars Together by Matt Goodfellow is gorgeous. I lost myself and saw myself. * Manjeet Mann, author of Run, Rebel and The Crossing * A punchy, poignant, playful volume of poetry for 10+. Goodfellow’s assured use of rhyme and repetition gives his work a powerful, singing depth. * The Guardian * The topics reflect what it means to be young in the world today, making space for vulnerability and strength. “I spin the wheel of worry every day,” one poem notes, but another cautions: “don’t mess with this battle-scarred child.” Nature, school and family feature in these accessible poems. * The Irish Times * The latest heartful collection of true things from Matt Goodfellow. * A.F. Harrold, author of The Imaginary and Midnight Feasts * This is one of the best poetry collections I’ve read in the past few years. * Dom Conlon, author of This Rock, That Rock and Leap, Hare, Leap! * Matt Goodfellow’s poetry collection is one to lose yourself in, one to share. * Armadillo Magazine * Let's Chase Stars Together is a stunning collection of poems, reflecting a whole range of emotions. Matt Goodfellow is an exceptionally talented poet who has the knack of selecting just the right words to capture and reflect feelings and thoughts which we all share and giving them voice and energy. Every poem is worth pausing at and commenting on. * ReadingZone * Rich, evocative language. * Joshua Seigal, author of I Bet I Can Make You Laugh and Yapping Away * Let’s Chase Stars Together, like all great poetry, connects us to the world, and to ourselves. Matt Goodfellow writes poems to make readers feel things. I smiled and nodded and laughed and cried my way through his wonderful words. * Lesley Parr, author of The Valley of Lost Secrets and When the War Came Home * Included here in this new book is something for many occasions and almost every mood. * Red Reading Hub * Let's Chase Stars Together is such an important new collection for 8-13 year olds, illustrated by Oriol Vidal. A space where readers can see their own lives in words that speak directly to them. -- Charlotte Hacking * The CLPE * PRAISE FOR BRIGHT BURSTS OF COLOUR: Those who love poetry should snap up Matt Goodfellow's rich and vivid new collection, Bright Bursts of Colour [...] Goodfellow has a knack for choosing all the right words. -- Imogen Russell Williams * The Guardian * PRAISE FOR BRIGHT BURSTS OF COLOUR: Whether you need cheering up, a sympathetic ear or something funnier or more thought-provoking, you’ll find plenty in this poetry collection for every occasion and mood. * BookTrust * PRAISE FOR BRIGHT BURSTS OF COLOUR: Matt Goodfellow is a fresh voice on the children’s poetry scene. * Pie Corbett *
